Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is a simple and effective way to regularly donate to Mobility Dogs life changing work.

Regular donations like those received from payroll giving are important to Mobility Dogs as they give the ability to plan ahead with greater confidence. This kind of donation ensures we can keep continue helping disabled New Zealanders with the practical help and emotional support that a Mobility Dog brings.

    How payroll giving works

Payroll giving is a very simple way to donate to Mobility Dogs and is organised through the payroll team at your workplace.

All you need to do is choose how much you want to donate and how often.

Your employer will then deduct your chosen donation amount from your pay and transfer the donation onto Mobility Dogs. If your organisation electronically files its employer monthly schedule and deduction form with the IRD then it can also offer payroll giving to its employees.

For every dollar you donate you will get 33.33 cents back as a tax credit. The credit reduces the amount of PAYE you pay. You will

receive an immediate tax credit for the payroll giving donation, reducing the PAYE amounts payable. This means you don’t need to wait to claim a tax credit at the end of the year.

There is additional information on the IRD’s payroll giving as an employee page if you would like to know more.

Or, if your organisation would like to find out more about setting up payroll giving for its employees, please direct them to visit the IRD’s payroll giving as an employer page.

Tip*  Ask your workplace if they would consider matching any staff donations dollar-for-dollar and double your donation amount.
