How Therapy Dogs transform lives

    Reducing stress levels and anxiety

Therapy Dogs, Court Dogs and School Dogs go through the same foundational training programme as a Mobility Dog, and these incredible dogs are specifically selected for their innate calming temperament and behaviour.

People and places that may benefit from working with these types of dogs include: rehabilitation clinics, educational environments, private practices, courts and even dental clinics.

These dogs are trained to provide support in conjunction with a clinician or handler. Their skills are tailored to best suit the needs of their environment.

For example, we presently have dogs working in courts, schools and private practices around Aotearoa New Zealand.

Therapy Dogs work within approved organisations and environments, and their access is limited to those settings.

A Therapy, Court or School Dog will live with, and be cared for by a clinician or their handler and accompany them to their work place.  The dog will be available to assist their patients, clients, students or visitors to court.

Importantly, it is the clinician/handler who works with the dog for the benefit of the client.
